This Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 from Tenuta la Fuga, offered by Folonari in magnum format and presented in a wooden case, shows a balanced, restrained profile. In the glass it displays a lively colour, with nuances that invite inspection of its density. The wine's approach is measured: the bouquet suggests ripe red fruit, subtle earthy notes and a trace of delicate spice, without excess. The structure is well defined, noticeable in body and persistence, while maintaining an overall sense of harmony.

It is recommended to serve it at controlled temperature and to decant if one wishes to open its aromatic profiles; the magnum format promotes slower development in bottle. Classic pairings include red meat dishes, game and aged cheeses; it also suits moments of contemplative tasting. For purchasers of the wooden case version, the packaging adds value for storage and gifting. This is a wine intended for those seeking a composed Brunello with character, suitable for occasions where quality is desired without ostentatious gestures.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
