La Pietra Chardonnay Toscana IGT 1986 from Tenute del Cabreo - Folonari is a label that combines the Chardonnay grape variety with the Toscana IGT designation and the stated vintage. The term 'Cassa Legno' appears in the title and refers to the packaging; for bottles of this age it is important to assess conservation condition, fill level in the neck and cork integrity. It will interest collectors and those seeking mature wines from a well-known house like Folonari and its interpretation through Tenute del Cabreo.

In the glass it requires a measured approach: it is advisable to open the bottle in advance, check for any sediment and consider a light decanting to separate deposits. Ideal food pairings run to preparations with defined but not overpowering character, such as structured fish, flavorful white meats and semi-firm cheeses; avoid overly spiced dishes that could mask the subtle developments of the vintage. Serve around 10–12 °C and, if in doubt about storage, taste the bottle and note any organoleptic changes due to age.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
