La Pietra Chardonnay Toscana IGT 1987 shows an aged, restrained character in the glass. The color is golden with amber highlights; on the nose there are notes of ripe fruit, peach and baked apple, accompanied by secondary hints of light vanilla and hazelnut. On the palate it is soft, acidity softened by age, tannins very discreet and the finish favors salinity over opulence.

The bottle, presented in a wooden case, should be handled with care: suited to those seeking signs of evolution in a white and preferring a slow tasting. Pairs with delicate baked fish dishes, creamy risottos or semi-aged cheeses; serve at around 12–14 °C. Storage and the bottle's condition strongly affect impression: check label and fill level before purchase. The label shows Tenute del Cabreo and Folonari.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
