La Pietra Chardonnay Toscana IGT 1988, offered in a wooden case by Tenute del Cabreo in collaboration with Folonari, is a white wine labeled as Chardonnay and classified as Toscana IGT. The label and presentation indicate a careful packaging: the wooden case suggests attention to storage and delivery. The vintage 1988 is the sole temporal reference provided; no further specifics on vinification or ageing are available beyond what the producer indicates. In the glass, a cautious and measured appraisal is appropriate: color and aromas may reflect the wine's age and the grape's character without making claims not supported by available data. For serving, a cool but not overly low temperature is recommended to appreciate varietal expression; classic pairings with fish, white meats or fresh cheeses may be suitable, while taking into account personal judgement and the condition of a bottle after decades of storage.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
