La Pietra Chardonnay 2003, produced by Tenute del Cabreo in collaboration with Folonari, is a Toscana IGT white wine presented in a wooden case. The 2003 vintage gives the wine a mature profile: it shows a deep straw color, and on the nose offers delicate notes of yellow-fleshed fruit, floral hints and a mineral trace that balances its substance. The palate is rounded, medium-bodied, with good structure and a saline finish that preserves balance and invites further sips. Persistence is pleasant and the sensations in the glass evolve with aeration, revealing more complex nuances over time.

It pairs well with more structured fish dishes, white meats and soft cheeses; it can accompany flavorful courses without overpowering them. Serve chilled, around 8–10 °C, and decant or open in advance if you wish the wine to fully express itself in the glass. These tasting suggestions are a cautious guide to appreciate a historic label of Tuscan production signed by Folonari.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
