The La Pietra Chardonnay Toscana IGT 2005 presents as a mature white wine with a pronounced golden hue and an aromatic development that reflects its age. On the nose there are notes of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, light citrus nuances and hints of dried flowers; on the palate it shows a full texture, an enveloping softness and freshness still present that supports the sip. The evolved aromas may include impressions of honey and toasted almond without being excessive, adding complexity rather than dominance.

It pairs well with traditional dishes featuring flavoursome fish, roasted white meats and creamy preparations, as well as with not-too-intense aged cheeses. Winery history

The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
