La Pietra Chardonnay Toscana IGT 2008 from Tenute del Cabreo - Folonari presents itself as a mature white wine; it is packaged in a wooden case. On the nose it offers memories of ripe fruit, notes of candied citrus and light hints of white flowers, with an expression that suggests evolution over time without resorting to technical detail. Acidity is present and balances the structure, while the finish remains on mineral references and a saline streak that facilitates pairing.

Ideal as a wine for tasting at the table, it accompanies flavorful fish dishes, shellfish and also delicate white meat preparations; it should be served cool but not cold to best reveal its aromas. The wooden case packaging also makes it suitable as a gift or for ordinary storage, noting that, being a vintage bottle, the storage conditions and history will affect its expression at the time of opening.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
