The Lacrima di Morro d'Alba DOC Rubico from Marotti Campi presents itself without artifice, true to its denomination. It shows a clear ruby red color; on the nose there are floral hints of violet and fruity notes of small red berries, accompanied by light spicy and herbal nuances. The overall impression is balanced and direct, with clear aromatics and no excess.

On the palate it offers freshness and moderate structure: acidity supports the sip, tannins are present but soft, contributing to a smooth and pleasant drink. It pairs well with cured meats, soft cheeses, pasta with light sauces and white meats; recommended serving temperature around 14–16 °C. A wine suited to everyday consumption and to those seeking a straightforward expression of local typicity.

Family-owned winery based in Morro d'Alba (AN), active since the mid-19th century; specialized in the native grapes Lacrima di Morro d'Alba and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
Region: Marche
Country: Italy
Founded: 1860
Grapes: Verdicchio, Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, Montepulciano, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Historic family-run estate. Specializing in Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba. Modern winery built in 1999, employing low-impact environmental practices. Vineyards situated at around 180 m above sea level; mixed soils tending toward clay. Recognized in national and international guides.
Winery history
The estate was purchased by the Marotti family in the mid-19th century (first local documentary mention of the vineyard dates to 1886). Giovanni Marotti Campi began modernizing the vineyards in 1991 and the modern winery was built in 1999; the estate remains family-run (Giovanni, Francesca and son Lorenzo).
Production philosophy
Winemaking exclusively from estate-grown grapes; low-impact farming (no irrigation, limited treatments with low-dose products); careful temperature control in the cellar (thermo-conditioned tanks, use of dry ice and nitrogen for whites), pneumatic presses, ageing partly in barriques and energy self-sufficiency via solar panels installed in 2010.
Terroir and vineyards
Estate of about 120 hectares with 53 hectares planted to vines, located in Sant'Amico (Morro d'Alba, AN). Hilly vineyards around 180 m asl, medium-textured soils with notable clay; varied exposures. Main grapes: Lacrima and Verdicchio; small plantings of Montepulciano, Petit Verdot and Cabernet since 1999.
