The Langhe Riesling of Oddero represents a fascinating oenological challenge undertaken by the winery, which stands out for its innovative approach and respect for traditions in the heart of Piedmont. With this wine, Oddero explores the potential of Riesling, a vine of German origin known for its incredible expressiveness and adaptability, in a terroir primarily famous for native vines such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto.

The decision to grow Riesling in the Langhe underlines the versatility and uniqueness of the territory, capable of offering ideal conditions even for non-traditional vines of the region, thanks to its varied microclimate and soils rich in minerals. Oddero's Langhe Riesling is the result of careful winemaking, aimed at preserving the lively acidity and distinctive aromas of the vine, with the aim of producing a wine that expresses both the typicality of Riesling and the unique character of the Langhe terroir.

Visually, the wine has a light straw yellow color, with greenish reflections that anticipate its freshness. On the nose, Langhe Riesling unfolds a complex and seductive aromatic bouquet, characterized by notes of white pulp fruit, such as green apple and peach, floral accents and a marked minerality, which recalls wet stone and gives depth and elegance to the olfactory profile.

In the mouth, Oddero Riesling surprises with its balanced structure and liveliness. The acidity is well integrated and supports a palette of flavors that reflects the olfactory sensations, with additions of citrus fruits and a light hint of aromatic herbs. The minerality is also felt on the palate, contributing to a long and clean finish, which leaves a pleasant sensation of freshness.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with fish, seafood, light appetizers and vegetable-based dishes, Oddero's Langhe Riesling proves to be an extremely versatile wine capable of accompanying a variety of flavours, thanks to its structure and its elegant acidity.

With its Langhe Riesling, Oddero not only enriches the Piedmontese wine panorama with a new and high-quality expression but also celebrates the richness and diversity of the Langhe territory, demonstrating how innovation, anchored in respect for tradition, can bring to surprising and satisfying results.

Winery history
The Oddero family has been in La Morra since the 18th century; the modern estate dates from 1878, when the first Giacomo Oddero began bottling wines under the family name. In the 20th century, the management of Giacomo helped consolidate the estate’s reputation; today the business is run by the next generations, who maintain the family tradition while expanding the vineyards and production.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to express the terroir by working with careful attention in the vineyard and with respect for the environment: organic practices and sustainable management are adopted to showcase the individual crus and preserve the heritage of the Langhe. In the cellar, priority is given to preserving the integrity of the grapes and to aging in large casks for wines that evolve over time.
