The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG Le Due Sorelle 2018 from Tenuta la Fuga (Folonari) presents itself as a wine of classic character, offered in a wooden case that highlights its appeal as a collectible. In the glass it shows an intense colour; on the nose there are notes of ripe red fruit, restrained spice accents and earthier nuances that integrate in a measured way. On the palate the structure is compact and the acidity supports the body, with tannins present but well balanced; the finish is pleasant, leaving an aromatic return consistent with the initial aromas.

It pairs well with red meat dishes, braises and aged cheeses, and also stands up to mushroom-based preparations or richer sauces. It is advisable to open the bottle in advance to allow the wine to open up, and to serve it not too cold to showcase its aromas and tannic texture. The wooden case makes it suitable for occasions when a wine to cellar or to gift is desired.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
