Conti Zecca's Mendola PGI is a white wine that celebrates the richness and diversity of the Apulian terroir. Produced by the historic Conti Zecca winery, which has been rooted in the Leverano area for centuries, in the heart of Salento, this wine represents the attention and care that the Zecca family dedicates to viticulture and the production of quality wines.

The Mendola line expresses Conti Zecca's exploration of white vines, with particular attention to the valorization of native and international varieties adapted to the warm and sunny climate of Puglia. The goal is to produce a wine that is at the same time fresh, aromatic and capable of expressing the unique characteristics of the Salento terroir.

Although the specific details on the composition of Mendola PGI may vary depending on the vintage and winemaking choices, this wine often highlights varieties that best express the desired freshness and minerality, potentially including grapes such as Chardonnay, Fiano, or Malvasia, among others.

Visually, Mendola PGI has a light straw yellow colour, sometimes with greenish reflections, which anticipates its liveliness and freshness. On the nose, it offers intense and pleasant aromas of white pulp fruit, such as pear and apple, together with floral notes and a touch of minerality reminiscent of the sea breeze, a distinctive characteristic of quality white wines produced near the Apulian coast.

In the mouth, the wine stands out for its freshness and drinkability, with a well-calibrated balance between acidity and fruitiness. The flavors reflect the olfactory sensations, enriched by a subtle complexity and a pleasant aromatic persistence in the finish, which invites another sip.

Ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to light dishes, seafood appetizers, fresh salads and fish-based first courses, Conti Zecca's Mendola PGI is a wine that manages to bring a breath of fresh air and a note of elegance to the table, demonstrating once again Conti Zecca's ability to produce wines that reflect the authenticity and generosity of Salento.

Winery history
The Zecca family has been established in Salento since the 16th century. Agricultural production evolved over time until, in the 1930s, the family began winemaking on-site in Leverano. Today the company comprises several family estates and continues as a family-run operation overseeing the entire production cycle from the vineyard to bottling.
