The Mezcal Alberto Ortiz Espadin is born in the traditional territories of the state of Oaxaca, the beating heart of mezcal production in Mexico. Made exclusively from the Agave Espadín cultivar, this distillate reflects a refined fusion between artisanal tradition and contemporary care. The agaves, grown in mineral-rich soils and skillfully hand-harvested, are baked in a stone oven inside a traditional palenque, which gives the final product typical smoky and earthy notes.

The distillation process takes place in small copper stills, ensuring a slow transformation that preserves the aromatic and gustatory complexity. On the nose, intense notes of sweet smoke are perceived, accompanied by balsamic nuances and mineral hints. On the palate, the structure is enveloping, with tones of spices, citrus, and a slight soft and persistent aftertaste. The finish is long and pleasantly clean, enhancing the balance between power and delicacy.

Ideal to taste neat or with a touch of lime and salt, the Mezcal Alberto Ortiz Espadin pairs magnificently with dishes from Mexican cuisine such as tacos or ceviche, but also finds a place in sophisticated cocktails thanks to its unique aroma. An authentic and engaging experience, a true ambassador of the Oaxaca territory.

Palenque (Palenque Spirits / Palenqueros project) is a bottling initiative that collects and markets 'Pure Single Palenque' — artisanal expressions of mezcal produced by palenqueros (mezcal masters) from the state of Oaxaca. The bottles highlight individual producers, are often bottled at natural strength and promote traditional methods and the absence of additives.
