Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG "Vigne a Porrona" by Folonari is a red wine that expresses Sangiovese from the Montecucco area. With a balanced profile, it shows aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, with floral hints and light spicy nuances. On the palate it has lively acidity and moderate tannins that support the structure while keeping the drinking experience smooth. Grapes from Vigne a Porrona impart a clear sense of place, with sapid touches and some earthy undertones that complete the profile.

It pairs well with everyday Italian dishes: pasta with ragù, grilled meats, lighter roasts and medium-aged cheeses. Also pleasant as a table wine for informal dinners. Serve at 16–18 °C in a large glass to promote aromatic expression; opening a few minutes before serving can be beneficial. Ideal for those seeking a versatile, approachable red.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
