The Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG from the Villarode winery, produced by Cesarini Sartori, stands as one of the most illustrious examples of Umbrian enology, a true gem for quality wine lovers. This wine, made from 100% Sagrantino grapes, is produced in the hills surrounding the town of Montefalco, where the rich soil and ideal microclimate enhance the potential of this native variety.

With a deep ruby red color, which can turn towards garnet as it ages, the Montefalco Sagrantino from Cesarini Sartori offers a complex bouquet of aromas on the nose. Prominent notes of ripe berries, such as blackberries and blueberries, are masterfully integrated with nuances of spices, dark chocolate, and a slight touch of vanilla, derived from maturation in wood.

On the palate, it reveals itself to be powerful yet harmonious, with a robust but well-balanced tannic structure, promising excellent aging potential. Flavors of dark fruit blend with delicate notes of leather, tobacco, and a persistence of spices that invites a second sip. The acidity is well-integrated and contributes to the wine's freshness, ensuring a long and pleasantly complex finish.

Ideal for accompanying rich dishes of red meats, game, and aged cheeses, Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Villarode by Cesarini Sartori is a wine that tells a story of territory and passion, capable of delivering unique emotions with every sip. Perfect for a special evening or as a prestigious gift for discerning wine lovers, it represents a valuable addition to any cellar.

Winery history
The estate was established through the commitment of the Cesarini Sartori family: Luciano Cesarini, Giuseppe Cesarini and Fiorella Sartori left previous careers in the late 1990s to return to rural life and focus on viticulture in Bastardo. Luciano applied his engineering expertise to the design of a highly automated, precisely controlled winery, intended to manage the winemaking processes with accuracy.

It also develops circular-economy projects and applied research in collaboration with universities and a start-up dedicated to adding value to vine residues.
