Relevant awards and scores for flagship labels and recognition as American Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast.
Winery history
The Raymond family, historically connected to Napa viticulture, established their estate in the valley in the 1970s and began bottling their first notable vintages in the following years. Over time the winery grew to encompass hundreds of acres in Napa and, in 2009, became part of the Boisset Collection. Online sources report slightly different figures and dates depending on the reference; to avoid inaccuracies about the exact year of founding, the specific field is left undefined.
Production philosophy
Emphasis on sustainability and regenerative viticulture: organic and biodynamic vineyard management, biodiversity protection and initiatives to reduce environmental impact. At the same time, the estate focuses on the visitor experience, with educational activities and sensory spaces that combine art, theatre and wine.
Terroir and vineyards
Appellations of Rutherford and St. Helena in Napa Valley. The estate reports approximately 170 acres of estate-owned vineyards distributed across several parcels; the soil cited for Rutherford is Pleasanton Loam, and the property includes historic blocks planted decades ago.
Awards and recognitions
Recognitions and high scores, including Raymond being named "American Winery of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast in 2012, and high ratings awarded by publications such as Jeb Dunnuck and Wine Advocate for individual labels.
