Winery history
The winery's history is tied to the hill called Cornarea: the family bought the hill in the 1970s with the aim of replanting Arneis, the indigenous Roero grape variety that was almost lost at the time. The business has remained family-run over the years; family members today handle winemaking, commercial management and hospitality. A passito wine, Tarasco, also originated on the hill by chance from berries that had been left to dry, and was incorporated into the estate's production.
Production philosophy
Preserve the expressive character of the terroir through controlled, gentle winemaking practices, highlighting the native varieties of Roero and maintaining a strong link between vineyard and bottle.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the Cornarea hill in the municipality of Canale, in the hilly Roero area. The soils are predominantly sand and clay with a notable presence of magnesium; the average altitude of the vineyards is around 280 m above sea level. The main exposures are east, southeast, northeast and west.
