After eight months in steel and four months in barrel, this Nebbiolo delle Langhe has developed the fruity and spicy character typical of a traditional Barbaresco, but is designed to be consumed at a young age.

With a fragrant and captivating bouquet, notes of dehydrated cherry, mint, tobacco, liquorice, incense and crushed flowers emerge. The palate is soft and complex, with a solid tannic structure that makes the wine suitable for a wide range of recipes, from the simplest to the most elaborate.

Small Barbaresco wine estate managed by the Vacca family, known for wines produced on the Ovello hills from Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto.
Region: Piemonte
Country: Italia
Founded: 1997
Grapes: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto
Family-run winery. Vineyards concentrated on Ovello Hill, the historic area of Barbaresco. Production focused on Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. Left the Consorzio Produttori del Barbaresco to market wines under its own label in 1997. Winemaking aimed at showcasing the local terroir.
Winery history
The estate, known locally as Cascina Casotto, has been tied to the Vacca family for generations; the family's roots in the area date back to the early decades of the 20th century. The estate takes its name from a centuries-old pine planted by the former owner Domizio Cavazza. In 1997 Renato Vacca, together with his father, launched an independent label after years of collaboration with the Produttori del Barbaresco consortium, marking a shift toward showcasing the local terroir.
Production philosophy
The production approach prioritizes respect for the soil and the vines: careful agricultural practices and winemaking aimed at highlighting the characteristics of the Ovello terroir. The winery combines traditional Langa expertise with contemporary choices in the vineyard and cellar to achieve expressive, balanced wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards concentrated on the Ovello hill, near Barbaresco. The site is characterized by relatively cool microclimates and calcareous soils with sandy veins and a good calcium content, ideal conditions for Nebbiolo destined for long-lived wines such as Barbaresco.
