The magnum of Nebbiolo Langhe from Fratelli Borgogno offers a straightforward approach to the grape: a fragrant profile with notes of dried rose, red cherry and a hint of forest floor that doesn't overpower.

On the palate it is slender yet present, with fresh acidity that supports the sip and fine tannins, slightly coarse when young, which provide structure without weighing it down. The impression is one of elegant tension rather than flamboyant breadth, with spicy notes and a medium-length finish that invites another taste. It's a wine meant for sharing: the magnum enhances the pleasure of serving and helps preserve it over the course of the evening. It pairs naturally with dishes that are at once rustic and refined — roast meats, not overly elaborate braises, mushroom risottos and aged cheeses — and stands up well to savory and umami flavors. Serve at a moderate temperature, letting it breathe for a few minutes if opened.
