The "Mille e Una Notte" by Donnafugata is an extraordinary expression of the famous Sicilian grape variety Nero d'Avola, harvested in the prestigious Controlled Designation of Origin. This wine embodies the perfect fusion between the tradition of Sicilian winemaking and modern viticultural technique, resulting in a product of excellent quality and intensity.

To the eye, the "Mille e Una Notte" displays a deep ruby red color, with slight garnet reflections that intensify with aging. On the nose, the bouquet is complex and enveloping, with aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, sweet spices like vanilla, and hints of chocolate and coffee. These scents are a prelude to an aromatically rich and persistently harmonious structure.

On the palate, the wine reveals itself as powerful yet balanced, with perfect harmony between vibrant acidity and well-structured tannins. The palate is caressed by a velvety texture that leads to a long and satisfying finish, with aftertastes of black berry fruits and delicate spices.

"Mille e Una Notte" is a wine that pairs magnificently with robust dishes, such as roast red meats, game-based dishes, and aged cheeses. It is also an excellent candidate for aging, promising to evolve beautifully in the cellar for many years.

This wine represents a true jewel of Sicily, ideal for those seeking a high-quality Nero d'Avola to enrich their collection or to offer a memorable tasting experience.

Winery history
Donnafugata began as an entrepreneurial project of the Rallo family, led by Giacomo and Gabriella Rallo. The modern company grew out of the family’s historical roots in the province of Marsala. Since its founding the brand has expanded its presence across several Sicilian territories and is now led by the next generation. Over the years the company has complemented its traditional production with sustainability initiatives, experimentation with indigenous grape varieties, and cultural projects connected to art and music.
Production philosophy
Enhancing biodiversity and Sicily's indigenous grape varieties, combining respect for the land with sustainable practices. Donnafugata focuses on carefully crafted, sometimes niche wines rooted in distinct territories, with a strong connection to the arts and cultural initiatives such as Donnafugata Music & Wine.
Terroir and vineyards
Production is spread across several estates in Sicily: Contessa Entellina, the volcanic island of Pantelleria, the Vittoria district, the slopes of Etna and the historic cellars of Marsala. Each area is employed to express different grape varieties and styles, from Pantelleria’s passito wines to the reds of Vittoria and Etna.
Awards and recognitions
Donnafugata's iconic wines, particularly the Passito di Pantelleria Ben Ryé, have received accolades and high ratings from Italian and international guides and publications, including Gambero Rosso, DoctorWine, Veronelli, and other international reviewers cited by the company.
