The Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2000 from Folonari, bearing the Torcalvano designation and offered in a wooden case, is a wine that reflects the maturity of its vintage without exaggeration. On the nose there are hints of ripe fruit, earthy notes and a complex aromatic profile that evolves with aeration; on the palate it shows structure, tannins that are present yet integrated, and a persistence that calls for cautious serving. The bottle shows evidence of time spent in the cellar without asserting undeclared technical details.

It pairs well with savory dishes, red meats and aged cheeses; it can accompany traditional preparations and boldly flavored courses. It is advisable to open in advance and consider decanting depending on the wine's stage of evolution. The wooden case aids storage and presentation as a cellar item or gift. Official information on production and aging is that which is stated on the label.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.

Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
