Pimm's liqueur was invented by James Pimm in 1823.
It is a very famous and much drunk Gin drink in England that was born as a tonic to help in the digestion of oysters. In fact, its inventor used to serve it in his kiosk, an "Oyster bar" in London, together with oysters.
Even today, the Pimm's recipe is very secret and in fact very few know its ingredients and doses (only 6 people!); in tasting, however, citrus fruits, herbs, flowers, cinchona, ginger, rhubarb and blackberries can be identified.
TErroso and balsamic, it was not born to be defined as a fine tasting product, it can rather be associated with Bitters, and is linked to occasions of conviviality and light-heartedness; the British, for example, hoard it during the Wimbledon tournament or during polo tournaments or at university parties.
