Descrizione

The Pinot Bianco Trocken from Weingut Geil in Bechtheim presents as a dry white with a composed, balanced character. On the nose it offers a discreet range of white floral and fruity notes, recalling fresh pear, apple and hints of citrus; in the background a subtle mineral thread provides lift. On the palate it balances freshness and roundness, with a light-to-medium body and lively acidity that shapes the sip without overpowering, finishing cleanly and with good persistence.

Suitable as a thoughtful everyday white, it pairs easily with seafood and shellfish, vegetable-based antipasti, fish carpaccio and composed salads; it also stands up to light poultry dishes and delicate pastas, as well as fresh cheeses. Serve chilled, around 8–10 °C, in tulip-shaped glasses that are not too large to highlight its aromas and freshness. Best served young to express the character of the grape.

Winery history

La famiglia Geil è legata al territorio di Bechtheim da generazioni: l'acquisto della casa padronale da parte di Georg Geil nel 1871 rappresenta l'avvio della tradizione vitivinicola locale che porterà il nome di Johann Geil all'attenzione pubblica. Johann promosse l'imbottigliamento locale e venne insignito dell'onorificenza di Oekonomierat; oggi la conduzione resta familiare e continua l'attività su più generazioni.

Production philosophy

L'azienda punta a valorizzare l'origine delle sue vigne e la tipicità dei terroir tramite lavoro di vigna accurato e vinificazione attenta. Il focus produttivo è sulle varietà locali (in particolare Riesling e le famiglie Burgunder e Silvaner), con un approccio che unisce tradizione, cura artigianale e apertura alle tecniche moderne.
