On the palate it displays a good balance between softness and structure: the alcohol is present but well integrated, the sip smooth and warming, with echoes of baked fruit, honey and sweet spices that extend into a pleasant finish. Enjoy neat at room temperature or with a large ice cube; it also works well as a supporting cocktail ingredient, for example in modern takes on the Old Fashioned, and pairs nicely with caramel-based desserts, dark chocolate or hard cheeses for contrast.
