Visually, the 20-year Tawny presents a bright amber color, with reddish highlights that enhance its clarity. On the nose, it exudes a rich and seductive bouquet, characterized by intense aromas of dried fruit, such as almonds and walnuts, along with notes of honey, cinnamon, and a hint of vanilla. This olfactory complexity invites a tasting that does not disappoint: on the palate, it is velvety, rich, and well-balanced, with a perfect harmony between sweetness and an almost unexpected freshness that prolongs its persistence.
It is recommended to serve the Niepoort 20-year Tawny Porto slightly chilled, between 12 to 16°C, ideally accompanied by aged cheeses, chocolate-based desserts, or dried fruit, or simply as a meditation after a meal. Its elegance also makes it perfect as a gift, capable of satisfying even the most demanding palates.
Investing in a bottle of this Porto is a choice of style and a statement of appreciation for Portuguese tradition, with Niepoort being one of the most esteemed wineries for the production of high-quality Porto wines.

Distillation
The Aguardente Velhíssima is a pomace distillate (aguardente) produced as a blend: aged spirits (for example a blend of lots aged 25 and 10 years) finished in oak casks.
Ageing
Aging in wood for Ports (traditional barrels/pipes in Vila Nova de Gaia for tawny and colheita) and in oak barrels for the spirits; some Colheita labels indicate long aging periods in traditional pipes.
