The oenologists at Porto Cruz have carefully selected the grapes, favoring indigenous varieties such as Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, and Touriga Francesa. After harvest, the wine undergoes a meticulous fermentation process, followed by aging in oak barrels that gives the Tawny its characteristic amber color and smooth notes.
Visually, the Porto Cruz Tawny presents a warm, bright color with orange reflections that promise a welcoming drink. On the nose, intense aromas of dried fruits like walnuts and almonds emerge, along with notes of sweet spices and a slight hint of vanilla and cocoa, resulting from the wood aging.
On the palate, the wine is rich and velvety, with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. The aftertaste is persistent, with echoes of cooked fruit and a light touch of chocolate. Thanks to its generous alcohol content, Porto Cruz Tawny is wonderfully suited both as an aperitif and as an end-of-meal companion, pairing well with aged cheeses, chocolate-based desserts, or simply as a relaxing end to the day.
The 100cl bottle of Porto Cruz Tawny is an elegant and appreciated gift or a valuable addition to any wine connoisseur’s collection. Its versatility makes it suitable for various occasions, whether formal or informal, always emphasizing a sense of style and elegance.
