Feudi San Marzano’s Primitivo di Manduria DOP “Sessantanni” is a red wine that evokes the intense character of Primitivo. In the glass, it may offer aromas of ripe fruit, such as plum and dark cherry, alongside spicy nuances and softer notes that blend into its fruity profile. On the palate, expect a full, enveloping presence, perceptible tannins and a lingering finish. Its specific expression may vary with the vintage, which is not stated here; these impressions should therefore be taken as a guide.

At the table, it pairs naturally with richly flavoured dishes: grilled or roasted meats, braised dishes, pasta with hearty sauces and mature cheeses are combinations worth trying. It can be a suitable choice for a convivial dinner when you want a red with a decisive taste, without needing a formal occasion. Serve it cool, at cellar temperature, and avoid letting it become too warm; opening the bottle shortly before serving is advisable. If desired, a few minutes in the glass can help its aromas emerge gradually. A bottle to consider for those who enjoy reds with good intensity and ripe fruit.

Cantine San Marzano – Winery in Puglia

Discover the story and wines of Cantine San Marzano.

A cooperative winery in Puglia, founded in 1962 by 19 winegrowers in San Marzano di San Giuseppe. It produces the Primitivo di Manduria DOP «Sessantanni»; «Feudi San Marzano» is not the winery name given on the official website.
Region: Puglia
Country: Italy
Winery history
In 1962, 19 winegrowers founded Cantine San Marzano. In 1996, the cooperative acquired a modern bottling plant and began marketing wine under its own brand. In 2000, it launched Sessantanni, now one of the winery’s signature labels.
Production philosophy
The winery highlights the connection between local viticulture and its region, with a particular focus on Primitivo and alberello-trained vines. According to the winery, Sessantanni is made from grapes grown on old vines.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is based in San Marzano di San Giuseppe, in the province of Taranto, at the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria area. Sessantanni grapes come from selected old vineyards in San Marzano and Sava, in Salento.
