Distillation
Produced on a wooden column still of the Coffey type (Enmore wooden Coffey still) or, for some historic batches tied to the same local tradition, on wooden Versailles-style stills; frequently released as single-cask bottlings by independent bottlers.
Ageing
Aged in oak casks (tropical maturation practice: filled at high ABV for tropical ageing); many modern KFM lots are then marketed as single-cask and in several cases receive finishes in Europe (e.g., in casks that previously held Islay whisky).
