The story
The Mazzetti family began distilling in the Monferrato in 1846 when Filippo Mazzetti founded the first distillery in Montemagno; the activity later expanded and relocated to Altavilla Monferrato. The company has remained family-run for generations, establishing itself as a historic presence in the production of grappa and Piedmontese distillates.
Distillation
Steam-heated copper pot stills with a discontinuous (batch) method; traditional distillation for eaux-de-vie and brandy (methods described in company materials).
Ageing
Ageing in casks and barriques; finishing practices in casks that previously held sherry, bourbon, vermouth and other selected woods; on-site ageing cellar for multi-year refinements.
