The Romagna Sangiovese DOC from the Terrerosse winery represents a fascinating interpretation of one of Italy's most celebrated and cherished grape varieties. Harmoniously nestled in the green hills of Romagna, this wine thrives on a land rich in clay and limestone, which imparts a distinctive character and remarkable structure to the Sangiovese.

The color of this wine is a deep ruby red with violet reflections, already hinting at the olfactory complexity that unfolds on the nose. At first sniff, notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums emerge, followed by a subtle and delicate sensation of sweet spices, vanilla, and a touch of aromatic herbs, testifying to the astute use of wood during aging.

On the palate, the Romagna Sangiovese DOC from Terrerosse expresses itself with vigor and robustness while maintaining excellent drinkability. Its acidity is well-balanced, supported by soft yet noticeable tannins that provide a lovely structure and aging potential. The finish is persistent, with a pleasant return of the fruity and spicy sensations perceived on the nose.

This Sangiovese is versatile in pairings: it pairs splendidly with traditional Romagna cuisine dishes such as tagliatelle with meat ragù, grilled red meats, and semi-aged cheeses. A wine that encapsulates the essence of its territory and the passion of the Terrerosse winery for oenological excellence.

Ideal to serve at a temperature of 16-18°C, this wine is destined to surprise and delight both Sangiovese enthusiasts and newcomers eager to discover the unique qualities of this noble variety in one of its most authentic territorial expressions.

Winery history
The Lestani family has farmed the land in Cuccana since the late 19th century; Terre Rosse began as a winemaking project when Adamo Lestani, who succeeded his father, planted the first vineyards. The estate developed from 1997 and has since expanded production while maintaining its connection to the territory and low-impact agricultural practices.
Production philosophy
The winery places two pillars at the heart of its work: quality and sustainability. In the vineyard, measures are taken to limit chemical treatments, and in the cellar techniques that preserve the aromas and integrity of the grapes are favored.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the hamlet of Cuccana, in the municipality of Bicinicco, on the Friuli plain, on iron-rich "red soils" that characterize the local microclimate. The estate is situated within the DOC Friuli area and manages vineyards planted at close spacing, using grass cover management to improve soil fertility and aeration.
