The Romagna Sangiovese DOP from Podere La Berta brings to the glass all the passion and dedication of a winery that has become synonymous with quality in wine production in the Romagna region.

This Sangiovese is produced with carefully selected grapes, cultivated in the rich and fertile lands that characterize its region of origin. The climatic characteristics, combined with the expertise of traditional winemaking, give this wine a solid structure and a taste profoundly connected to its roots.

Visually, it presents an intense ruby red color, which preludes the olfactory sensations of ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, with lightly spiced notes and a hint of vanilla, partly due to aging in wood. On the palate, the acidity is well balanced by soft tannins and a good taste persistence. This makes the Romagna Sangiovese DOP a medium-bodied wine, ideal to accompany Romagna cuisine dishes, grilled meats, and medium-aged cheeses.

The winemaking process follows traditional methods, maintaining the integrity of the fruit and accentuating the varietal peculiarities of the Sangiovese. Aging takes place partly in steel containers to preserve the wine's freshness and aromaticity, and partly in barriques, to enhance its structure.

Podere La Berta, situated in the hills of Romagna, is known for its attention to detail and its commitment to environmental respect, using sustainable viticulture practices to ensure not only the quality of the wine but also the health of their lands for future generations.

With each sip of Romagna Sangiovese DOP from Berta, one appreciates the history, culture, and passion of a region that has made wine a true artistic expression of its territory.

Winery history
The estate began as a winemaking project on the hills of Brisighella, rooted in the work started by Marcello Giovannini in the early 1970s. In 2009 ownership passed to the Poggiali family, who continued developing the estate while maintaining a focus on quality and local identity.
