The Panama rum Rodrigo 9Y from The Demon's Share series presents a bold yet measured character: on the nose it opens with notes of warm caramel, dark honey and ripe fleshy fruit, balanced by a slight spicy hint that adds depth. The intensity is well judged, without alcoholic harshness, leaving an olfactory clarity that invites a deeper sip. The structure is straightforward and encourages measured sipping, ideal for those seeking a characterful rum without excess.

On the palate it remains round and enveloping, with a medium-full body, a soft texture and a pleasant warmth that supports the aromas without overpowering them. The palate develops toward tones of toffee and bitter cocoa, with an elegant, dry persistence on the finish; light tannins and a touch of salinity complete the profile. It is best served neat or with a single ice cube to open its nuances and also lends itself to simple mixes where it maintains its identity, pairing well with caramel-based desserts or dark chocolate.
