Let’s talk about Rosa dei Frati DOC - 375ml - Cà dei Frati

More questions

The Rosa dei Frati DOC from Ca' dei Frati is a refined rosé that captures the essence of the indigenous grape varieties of Lake Garda. Produced mainly from Groppello grapes, complemented by Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera, this wine stands out for its freshness and vibrancy.

The winemaking process begins with gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, thereby preserving the fruity and floral aromas. Rosa dei Frati presents itself with a delicate blush pink color, which preludes an intriguing bouquet of fresh red fruits, notes of cherry, and subtle floral hints.

On the palate, it is elegant and balanced, with lively acidity that makes it particularly delightful to drink. The red fruit notes make their way through a structure that reveals surprising complexity for a rosé, with a persistently aromatic aftertaste.

Served chilled, it is ideal as an aperitif or in combination with light dishes such as summer salads, fish-based dishes, or poultry. The 375ml bottle represents a perfect choice for those who wish to enjoy a glass of wine without opening a whole bottle, ensuring freshness and quality in every sip.

Rosa dei Frati from Ca' dei Frati is not just a wine but an authentic expression of the Garda territory, distinguished by elegance and versatility.

The winery

Cà dei Frati

LombardiaItaliaSince 1939

Historic farm and winery in Lugana (Lugana di Sirmione, BS) run by the Dal Cero family, best known for its Lugana made from the native Turbiana grape and for several Valpolicella labels, as well as olive oil and spirits.
Grape varieties
Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana), Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina, Oseleta
  • Flagship label: Lugana "I Frati" 100% Turbiana
  • Production of the Amarone della Valpolicella "Pietro Dal Cero"
  • Historic estate of the Dal Cero family
  • On-site shop at the winery and guided visits/tours available.
  • Also produces extra virgin olive oil and spirits.
The story
The estate is documented as far back as 1782, and its present course took shape when Felice Dal Cero moved to Lugana di Sirmione in 1939. The Dal Cero family progressively bottled and promoted Lugana; in 1969 Pietro Dal Cero took part in the establishment of the appellation by bottling its first label. Today the estate is managed by succeeding generations of the family, who carry on production and activities tied to the local area.
Production philosophy
Careful work in the vineyard and cellar, with separate vinifications for each vineyard to capture the different expressions of the terroir. The estate declares respect for the raw material, up-to-date techniques and carefully planned ageing to produce wines with integrity and longevity.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate's main vineyards are concentrated in the Lugana di Sirmione area and around the tower of San Martino della Battaglia on Lake Garda; in the early 2000s the estate also acquired approximately 11 hectares in Valpolicella, where the Amarone 'Pietro Dal Cero' is produced.
