The Rosso di Montepulciano DOC Torcalvano by Folonari is an easy-drinking wine that carries the DOC designation and the Torcalvano label. It appears with a medium-intensity ruby red colour. On the nose it offers a restrained, fragrant profile with hints of ripe red fruit, light spice notes and floral touches; the overall impression leans toward elegance rather than opulence. On the palate it shows balance between body and freshness, soft tannins and a pleasant persistence that invites another sip, without claiming great concentration.

For pairing, it suits rustic dishes: pasta with flavourful sauces, moderately cooked white and red meats, cured meats and medium-aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18 °C; it can be briefly aerated before serving to enhance the aromas. Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
