Rosso Maremma Toscana DOC Ad Astra - Nittardi is born in the heart of Maremma, a generous and still authentic land of Tuscany, where the Mediterranean climate and clay-sandy soils give structure and elegance to the wines. This wine is mainly made from Sangiovese grapes, complemented by indigenous and international varieties that provide complexity and depth. The aging takes place in oak barrels, where the wine matures delicately and develops a rich and enveloping bouquet.

In the glass, it presents an intense ruby color, while on the nose it releases fruity scents of ripe cherry, plum, and spicy notes intertwined with light balsamic nuances. The taste is harmonious, with soft tannins and a persistent finish that invites further tasting. Perfect paired with red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses, Ad Astra best expresses the rustic elegance typical of the Maremma territory.

Winery history
The estate is already mentioned in 1183 under the toponym "Nectar Dei" and in the 16th century became part of the holdings of Michelangelo Buonarroti, who sent wine to the Pope. In the 1980s the property was acquired by the Canali–Femfert family, who began the revival of the historic estate in Chianti and, in the late 1990s, expanded operations by acquiring vineyards in Maremma; management of the second generation has been entrusted to Léon Femfert.
Production philosophy
There is a strong connection between winemaking and art, with a focus on vineyard quality and a gradual transition to organic practices and sustainability certifications.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located between Castellina in Chianti and Panzano, in the province of Siena, with vineyards in the Chianti Classico and an estate in the Maremma where the Super Tuscans Ad Astra and Nectar Dei are produced.
Awards and recognitions
The wines of Nittardi regularly receive high scores from international publications and accolades such as Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso and 5 Stars from Decanter in various vintages.
