Descrizione

Poggio alle Nane is a Maremma Toscana DOC red wine made by Antinori at the Le Mortelle estate, in the heart of the Maremma, a few kilometres from Castiglione della Pescaia. It is produced from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and a small percentage of Carménère. These varieties express the distinctive terroir of the Poggio alle Nane vineyards particularly well. The name refers to the area where the vines are planted, once used for raising ducks locally known as “nane”.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red colour with violet highlights. Its complex bouquet combines aromas of redcurrant, blackberry and red plum with hints of vanilla, spices, light tobacco and eucalyptus. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, supported by an elegant, refined tannic texture. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of cocoa and myrtle. A distinctive red wine that highlights the aromatic richness and structure of the grape varieties grown in the Tuscan Maremma.

Winery history

The Antinori family has been active in the wine world since 1385, with a tradition that has continued for more than twenty-six generations.
