The Rosso Susumaniello IGT Salento Morigine from Funiati Artigiani Viticoltori presents the indigenous variety with a restrained, recognizable character. It shows an intense ruby color with slight violet hues; on the nose there are aromas of small ripe red fruits, hints of cherry and plum, and an aromatic profile that recalls Mediterranean herbs and delicate spices. The olfactory reading remains fresh and direct, without excessive elaboration, respectful of the varietal expression.

On the palate it offers a medium to full body, with present but smoothed tannins that support the structure without overpowering it; the acidity is well balanced, promoting a smooth and pleasant drinkability. The finish is savory and of good persistence, suitable to be enjoyed on its own or paired with regional dishes. It pairs naturally with grilled meats, rustic meat sauces and semi-firm cheeses; serve at around 16–18 °C to appreciate its balance and freshness. An everyday yet carefully made wine, designed to highlight the raw material and the simplicity of drinking.

Winery history
A family-run winery that showcases the indigenous grapes of Salento. On its official website it states that operations began in 2020 and describes multiple generations involved in viticulture; however, some external listings report different years. To avoid discrepancies, the 'foundation_year' field remains null and chronological information should be verified directly from the listed sources.
Production philosophy
Territorial, artisanal production: exclusively vinified from estate-grown grapes, hand-harvested and subject to meticulous control of cellar processes to capture in the bottle the sense of place and the expressiveness of indigenous varieties.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in San Pancrazio Salentino, in the Salento area and close to the Salice Salentino appellation. Vineyards are situated a short distance from the sea on predominantly deep, clay soils, with diurnal temperature variations that contribute to the freshness of the grapes.
