The 'Ca' del Merlo' wine by Joseph Quintarelli is a complex and vigorous work obtained through the Ripasso technique, starting from a mixture of grapes. After a maturation period of 7 years in large oak barrels, a ruby red wine is born, with rich and enveloping aromas of ripe red fruit and sweet spices. It offers a powerful, soft and velvety taste, characterized by a remarkable structure, complexity and long-lasting persistence.

The result of careful and meticulous production, Quintarelli creates an ideal wine to accompany important dishes based on red meat and game. Its ability to continue to evolve and mature in the bottle makes it an excellent option for those looking for a wine that can refine its character over the years.

Region: Veneto (Valpolicella)
Country: Italia
Grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Garganega
Renowned for its Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto classico. Traditional use of grape drying and long artisanal practice in the cellar. Conservative quality policy: downgrading certain vintages and wines to maintain standards. Family-run producer with a strong sense of place; iconic names such as "Rosso del Bepi" and "Alzero" among the labels. Highly sought-after wines on the international market.
Winery history
The winery began as a family enterprise tied to Valpolicella Classica. Giuseppe Quintarelli brought the winery to international recognition thanks to the artisanal care in winemaking and the rigorous selection of grapes. Production has remained family-run over the years, and Bepi’s work is widely cited as the cornerstone of the winery’s reputation.
Production philosophy
Traditional method based on manual grape selection, the appassimento used for styles such as Amarone and Recioto, and a cautious quality policy that, in some cases, leads to downgrading wines when they are not deemed worthy of the top label. Strong focus on tradition and on the territorial character of the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is rooted in the classic Valpolicella zone, in the Negrar/Verona area, an area known for its indigenous grape varieties and for the appassimento techniques employed in typical local productions.
