The Salento Rosato PGI "Verus" by Conti Zecca is a celebration of the freshness and elegance that can be expressed through the Negroamaro grape variety, interpreted here in its rosé version. Located in the fertile Salento region, in the heart of Puglia, Conti Zecca draws on centuries of viticultural experience to produce wines that reflect the richness and diversity of the territory. The winery combines traditional methods with modern technologies to enhance the unique characteristics of each grape variety, producing high-quality wines that are appreciated both nationally and internationally.

"Verus" derives mainly from Negroamaro grapes, chosen for their ability to give life to a rosé with a rich aromatic profile and balanced structure. Negroamaro, an indigenous grape variety from Puglia, is known for its versatility and the intensity of its aromas, which in the "Verus" are expressed in a delicate and inviting key, perfect for a rosé.

The vinification of the "Verus" Salento Rosato PGI involves a short cold maceration of the grapes to extract color and aromas without excessive tannic extraction, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. This process allows us to preserve the freshness and liveliness of the aromas, fundamental characteristics for a quality rosé.

Visually, the wine presents itself with a bright and attractive cherry pink color. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex aromatic bouquet, with notes of fresh red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, enriched by floral nuances and a light touch of aromatic herbs that add depth and invitingness to the olfactory profile.

In the mouth, "Verus" is fresh and well balanced, with a pleasant acidity that supports its structure and enhances its drinkability. Fresh fruit flavors blend with a subtle minerality, leading to a clean and persistent finish, which leaves the palate satisfied and refreshed.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with light dishes, salads, fish and seafood starters, the Salento Rosato IGP "Verus" by Conti Zecca is a wine that offers a pleasant and versatile tasting experience, perfect for accompanying convivial moments or to enjoy a pleasant refreshment on hot summer days.

Winery history
The Zecca family has been established in Salento since the 16th century. Agricultural production evolved over time until, in the 1930s, the family began winemaking on-site in Leverano. Today the company comprises several family estates and continues as a family-run operation overseeing the entire production cycle from the vineyard to bottling.
