The Santagostino Bianco by Firriato represents one of the highest expressions of Sicilian viticulture, combining elegance, intensity, and complexity in a single, refined glass. This wine is a harmonious blend of Catarratto and Chardonnay grapes, cultivated on the gentle hills of Sicily overlooking the Mediterranean, where the calcareous soil and temperate climate are ideal for optimal grape maturation.

In the glass, Santagostino Bianco displays a straw-yellow color with golden reflections, promising a drink rich in nuances. The nose reveals notes of ripe tropical fruits, peach, and a slight touch of vanilla provided by partial aging in barriques. This imparts a perfect balance between the freshness of Catarratto and the roundness of Chardonnay.

On the palate, Santagostino Bianco by Firriato surprises with its structure and complexity. The heightened acidity is balanced by creaminess that makes it enveloping and persistent. Flavors of green apple, citrus, and hints of exotic fruit blend with elegant spicy notes and a slightly toasted finish.

This wine is best served at a temperature of 10-12°C and pairs magnificently with seafood, fish-based dishes, or as an aperitif. It is also an excellent companion for light appetizers and fresh cheeses. With its well-defined flavor profile and its ability to evolve over time, Santagostino Bianco is destined to satisfy the most discerning palates, representing an excellent choice for any special occasion.

In summary, Santagostino Bianco by Firriato is a tribute to the land of Sicily, which with its generous nature and expert winery work, is capable of delivering unique emotions through the glass.

Winery history
Founded as a family project by Salvatore Di Gaetano in the 1980s, Firriato has grown by expanding its presence across multiple estates in Sicily and bringing the island’s wines to international markets. The family has remained actively involved in technical supervision and brand development, over time establishing estates dedicated to production, ampelographic research and hospitality.
