The Sauternes from Clos 19 Bis embodies the essence of sophistication and sweetness, emblematic of the Bordeaux region from which it originates. This wine is distinguished by its intense golden color and unmistakable aromatic profile. The grapes, carefully selected and hand-picked, undergo a process of "botrytization," a natural phenomenon that concentrates sugars and flavors, giving this Sauternes its characteristic balanced sweetness and unique complexity.

On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of apricot, honey, and notes of candied citrus with a delicate undertone of vanilla and sweet spices, due to maturation in French oak barriques. On the palate, the wine is luxuriously velvety with a well-balanced freshness leading to a long and pleasantly persistent finish.

Ideal as a companion to foie gras, blue cheeses, or fruit-based desserts, the Sauternes from Clos 19 Bis is a wine for contemplation, capable of elevating any tasting moment to a true sensory experience. Cellar aging will allow this wine to evolve, developing even greater complexity and depth over time.

Clos 19 Bis – Winery in Bordeaux (Nouvelle-Aquitaine)

Discover the story and wines of Clos 19 Bis.

Small organic Bordeaux estate led by Vincent Quirac, with two vineyard parcels (Graves and Sauternes) and limited production of red and sweet wines, naturally vinified.
Region: Bordeaux (Nouvelle-Aquitaine)
Country: Francia
Founded: 2008
Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sémillon
Two organic parcels certified by Ecocert (Graves and Sauternes). Producer: Vincent Quirac; first vintage 2008. Very limited production (approximately 3–4 thousand bottles when nature permits). Notable wines: a red Graves (Bordeaux blend) and a Sauternes made from Sémillon. Minimal-intervention winemaking with reduced use of sulfites.
Winery history
Clos 19 Bis is centred on two small vineyard plots owned by producer Vincent Quirac. The official website states that the first vintage dates to 2008; since then Quirac has been vinifying the grapes using natural practices in a small-scale winery, focusing on very limited production.
Production philosophy
The preferred approach is certified organic viticulture (Ecocert) and winemaking with minimal technical intervention: natural fermentations, minimal use of sulfites and no chemical additives whenever possible, aiming to express the character of the terroir through artisanal techniques.
Terroir and vineyards
The two parcels are located in the Bordeaux region: one hectare in the Graves appellation (commune of Illats) and one hectare in the Sauternes appellation. The products and terroir reflect the distinctive characteristics of these subzones of the Gironde.
