The Schioppettino di Prepotto Riserva DOC Friuli Colli Orientali from La Viarte winery, presented here in Jeroboam format, is a prestigious example of one of Friuli Venezia Giulia's most refined indigenous grape varieties. Positioned among the eastern hills of the region, where the unique climate and soil provide ideal conditions for the vine, La Viarte's Schioppettino Riserva stands out for its complexity and elegance.

The selectively harvested grapes at the end of October, followed by controlled fermentation and aging in oak for over 18 months, result in a wine of extraordinary structure and depth. This red wine boasts a dark ruby color filled with olfactory promises ranging from black pepper and spices to hints of ripe red fruits and a light smoky vein typical of barrel aging.

On the palate, the Schioppettino di Prepotto Riserva offers a harmonious combination of velvety tannins and fresh acidity that prolongs the gustatory pleasure, suggesting excellent aging potential. Notes of red berries, dark chocolate, and a delicate balsamic sensation intertwine in a long and persistent finish.

Ideal to serve with robust dishes such as roasted meat, game, or aged cheeses, this excellent wine is not only a superb choice for any important tasting but also a prestigious gift given its Jeroboam format, promising to make an impressive figure in any wine collection or festive table.

Winery history
La Viarte was established as a production company in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and is recorded as having been founded in 1973. Over the years it has developed dedicated ranges and, in 2023, returned to public attention thanks to a new management phase with the arrival of the Polegato family, who relaunched the company while maintaining its focus on the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery places respect for the territory, the enhancement of native grape varieties, and a detail-oriented cellar approach at its core: targeted winemaking by type, selective use of oak for red wines, and limited production to emphasize quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located on the hills of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards grow on marly-sandy soils, which impart structure and minerality to the wines.
