Old Smitty’s Brave New Spirits offers a single malt with a restrained, well‑proportioned presence, where malty character intertwines with a warm, enveloping dimension. On the palate it is immediately round, with notes of honey and vanilla that give way to a subtle bitterness of citrus peel and a light background of dried fruit. The texture is clean, without excess, and the flavor progression retains good incisiveness without losing softness. The finish provides a pleasant persistence, with malty echoes and a slight dryness that invites the next sip; the balance between body and freshness makes it surprisingly versatile.

It suits a contemplative tasting at room temperature, but is also approachable with a splash of water that releases deeper spices. It pairs well with dark chocolate, crostini topped with rustic pâté, or hard cheeses; it is a fitting companion both for a quiet after‑dinner and for those seeking an everyday whisky with a frank, genuinely pleasant character. Served in a tulip glass it highlights the aromatic development and the cleanliness of the sip.
