Winery history

The estate dates back to 1500, the year the castle of the same name was built. In 1716, the Pomino territory was recognised as one of Tuscany’s four most suitable areas for quality wine production; its wines received awards in Vienna in 1873 and a gold medal at the Paris Exposition in 1878.

Production philosophy

The philosophy combines the expression of each individual terroir with the cultivation of Tuscan diversity, with a focus on sustainable agriculture and responsible forest management.

Terroir and vineyards

Castello Pomino lies among the woods of the Florentine mountains, with vineyards reaching 700 metres in altitude. Pomino Bianco is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc.
