Winery history
The estate originated from a family business in the restaurant trade and the artisanal production of wines and cured meats. As stated by the company, it is currently family-run. The owners report growth and renovation of the cellar over time, with winemaking, aging and bottling carried out in modern facilities, including underground spaces, and a historic farmhouse at the centre of the vineyards.
Production philosophy
Quality-focused production with a strong connection to the land: high-density vineyards and low yields, targeted vineyard interventions and respect for the environment; production practices that combine tradition and modern technologies to maintain high quality standards.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Calerno, a hamlet of Sant'Ilario d'Enza, halfway between Reggio Emilia and Parma, at the foot of the colline Matildiche. The vineyards are cultivated on alluvial soils mixed with gravel and are drip-irrigated; the winery makes use of the area's vocation for typical Emilia-Romagna productions such as Lambrusco.
Awards and recognitions
At the 2017 Sakura Award, the winery reports two gold medals for its wines, including "Il Mio Rosa" and "Vigna del Picchio," according to the producer.
