The Spumante For England Rosé Pas Dosé by Contratto represents a unique sensory journey into the heart of the Italian sparkling wine tradition elegantly reinterpreted. Obtained from a careful selection of typical grape varieties from the Piedmont area, this sparkling wine stands out for the classic method that enhances its finesse and structure. The absence of dosage adds freshness and purity, allowing the authentic character of the territory and the grapes composing this refined blend to emerge.

In the glass, it shows a pale pink color, embellished by a fine and persistent perlage, while the nose reveals delicate notes of small red fruits, such as raspberries and wild strawberries, accompanied by floral and yeast nuances finely integrated. The sip is lively and dry, with a vibrant acidity that gives harmony and longevity to the product, offering a perfect balance between freshness and complexity.

Perfect paired with delicate fish dishes, shellfish, and gourmet appetizers, this sparkling wine also finds its highest expression as an aperitif, capable of surprising lovers of the most refined and sought-after bubbles. Its personality makes it an excellent choice for moments of celebration and conviviality.

Winery history
Founded by Giuseppe Contratto in 1867 in Canelli, the estate began by vinifying Moscato grapes and producing bottle‑fermented sparkling wines. In the early decades of the twentieth century Contratto wines gained foreign markets and royal contracts; in 1919 the company produced Italy’s first vintage sparkling wine. From 1920 the production of vermouth and liqueurs was added. The Contratto family remained at the helm until 1993, when the company passed to the Bocchino family; subsequently, in 2011, ownership was acquired by the Rivetti family, who have relaunched Metodo Classico production and expanded its presence in Alta Langa.
Production philosophy
A range focused on vineyard quality and respect for the land: careful vineyard management, low yields, and agronomic practices aimed at organic farming, with the goal of expressing the land’s identity through long-aged sparkling wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Historic headquarters in Canelli, in the province of Asti. The estate also operates vineyards in Alta Langa for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; the historic underground cellars carved into tuff are an asset for the aging of Metodo Classico wines.
