Tequila Ocho Blanco Red Edition Día de los Muertos 2020 is a special red-bottle release created to celebrate Mexico’s Día de los Muertos tradition. Produced by Ocho from 100% blue agave, it comes from the Cerro Grande terroir, located at approximately 2,290 metres above sea level and around 27 kilometres from Arandas in Jalisco. The local soil, rich in clay and iron, contributes to the distinctive character of the agave. Only fully mature plants are selected for harvesting, after growing for approximately seven years.
Bottled at 40% ABV in a 50 cl format, this clear blanco tequila offers a fresh and expressive profile. Citrusy and spicy notes combine with a pleasant savoury touch and mineral nuances. On the palate, the natural intensity of the agave is followed by a gently peppery sensation and a persistent finish. It can be enjoyed neat or used as a refined base for tequila cocktails. With its striking red presentation, this limited special edition brings together Ocho’s terroir-focused style and the distinctive colours and symbolism associated with Mexico’s Día de los Muertos celebration.
