The Torcolato Passito Breganze DOC in 375ml format by Maculan is a precious expression of the Breganze area, a Venetian region renowned for the production of this extraordinary sweet wine. Produced with selected and dried Vespaiola grapes, this half-bottle version offers the opportunity to appreciate the richness and intensity of Torcolato in an ideal quantity for special moments or intimate tastings.

The Maculan family has been passionately dedicated to viticulture for generations, managing to capture the essence of the Vespaiola grape through traditional techniques and innovation. The grapes, left to dry on racks until the beginning of the year, are then delicately pressed, giving life to a must rich in sugars and aromas. The slow fermentation and aging in small oak barrels give the wine complexity, elegance and an extraordinary range of aromas.

Torcolato in the 375ml format has an intense and bright amber color, a sign of its concentration and quality. On the nose, it explodes in a bouquet of great richness, with notes of candied fruit, acacia honey, dried apricot and nuances of sweet spices such as vanilla, enriched by a light toasted note. These intense and enveloping aromas are the prelude to a unique tasting experience.

In the mouth, the wine exhibits a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, creating a harmonious contrast that stimulates the palate without weighing it down. The richness of the fruit combines with a pleasant freshness, leading to a long and persistent finish, in which the sweet and spicy notes perceived on the nose are found.

Ideal as a dessert wine, Maculan's Torcolato Passito Breganze DOC pairs beautifully with dry pastries, blue cheeses and foie gras, but is also perfect to enjoy alone as a meditation wine. The half bottle represents an excellent choice for those who wish to explore the complexity and beauty of this wine without the commitment of opening a whole bottle, making it an ideal gift or a personal luxury to indulge on special occasions.

Winery history
The winery originated from the Maculan family's winemaking activities in Breganze. The current estate was developed from the business founded by grandfather Giovanni Maculan in 1947. In the 1970s Fausto Maculan led a qualitative transformation of the estate, elevating local wines such as Torcolato and expanding the portfolio with modern expressions of red and white wines. Today management also involves his daughters, continuing a path that combines local tradition with winemaking innovation.
Production philosophy
The winemaking approach combines respect for the territory with experimentation: meticulous care in the vineyard and the cellar, revival of local traditions and attention to modern techniques. The estate emphasizes the identity of Breganze grapes while also using international varieties for a wide range of wine styles.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the DOC Breganze area, on the hills at the foot of the Altopiano di Asiago. The area is characterized by microclimates favorable to ripening and by hillside aspects that influence production, particularly of passito wines made from Vespaiola.
