After the first selection of the bunches directly in the vineyard, a subsequent sorting was carried out upon their arrival in the cellar.
In the 2020 vintage, the harvest provided ripe grapes with exceptional acidity. The malolactic fermentation started shortly after the separation of the skins. The Mormoreto then began the aging process in French oak barriques, where it spent the last two years, benefiting from the natural micro-oxygenation provided by the wood.
After bottling, the subsequent months of aging allowed Mormoreto to develop its harmony, fully manifesting its elegance and potential.
The wine has an intense and bright ruby red color with purple reflections. The bouquet is rich and complex, offering fruity, floral and spicy notes. The predominance is given by berries, accompanied by hints of morello cherry, fig and date, as well as pleasant citrus notes of cedar and bergamot. The olfactory finish is characterized by tones of toasted dried fruit, cinnamon, black tea and coffee.
In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, persistent and balanced, with particularly soft and silky tannins, and an extraordinarily long finish.
