The Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Ripasso by Secondo Marco is a superb expression of the traditional Valpolicella wine, enriched by the ripasso technique which involves a second fermentation on Amarone and Recioto pomace. This process not only intensifies the wine's flavor profile, but adds layers of complexity and structure to the palate.

Visually, the wine has an intense and deep ruby red color, with garnet nuances that evolve with aging. On the nose, a harmony of aromas of ripe red fruits emerges, such as cherries and plums, coupled with intriguing notes of spices, leather and a hint of vanilla, the result of aging in wood.

In the mouth, Secondo Marco's Valpolicella Ripasso offers a rich and enveloping structure. The tannins are robust, but soft and well integrated, supported by a lively acidity that gives freshness to the sip. The presence of ripe fruit blends with nuances of chocolate and coffee, leading to a long and persistent finish that leaves a spicy and slightly bitter aftertaste, typical of the review.

This wine pairs perfectly with tasty dishes, such as braised meats, stews and grilled red meats, as well as with mature cheeses and mushroom dishes. Its richness also makes it an excellent companion for winter evenings or to accompany post-dinner conversations.

The Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Ripasso by Secondo Marco is a wine that continues to improve with age, developing greater softness and harmony in its flavors and aromas. Its complexity and ability to evolve make it a wine appreciated by both connoisseurs and those approaching Ripasso wines for the first time.

Winery history
Secondo Marco is the personal project of Marco Speri, originated within the historic Speri family and established as an independent winery in 2008. The winery was founded to interpret Valpolicella according to Marco’s vision and taste, with a focus on grape selection and traditional techniques such as grape drying for Amarone.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to express the character of the terroir through an approach that combines tradition and research: careful vineyard management, hand selection of the bunches, use of appassimento and winemaking focused on preserving sapidity and the grape's aromas. For the Amarone, the winery states long, spontaneous fermentations without added yeasts. The emphasis is on organoleptic quality and territorial identity.
