Maculan's Valvolpara Vespaiolo DOC Breganze is a bright and refined expression of the Vespaiolo grape variety, grown in the Breganze area, in the Veneto region. This region, known for its volcanic soils and temperate climate, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Vespaiolo, an indigenous vine that finds its maximum expression in this area, giving life to white wines of great elegance and complexity. The Maculan winery, recognized for its excellence and ability to produce distinctive wines that reflect the terroir to which it belongs, has been able to interpret this vine with mastery, creating Valvolpara Vespaiolo, a wine that combines freshness, aromatic intensity and a pleasant minerality.

The vinification of Valvolpara aims to preserve the typical aromatic characteristics of Vespaiolo, emphasizing its freshness and liveliness. After delicate pressing of the grapes, the must ferments at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, a process that helps keep the primary aromas of the grape intact and gives the wine its typical freshness and drinkability.

Visually, Valvolpara presents a light, bright and inviting straw yellow color. On the nose, it offers an intense and fragrant bouquet, characterized by floral notes of acacia and lime, enriched by aromas of white pulp fruit, such as peach and pear, and by a light mineral vein that adds complexity and depth to the olfactory profile.

In the mouth, the wine is lively and fresh, with a balanced acidity that supports its structure and accentuates the cleanliness of the fruity flavours. The minerality perceived on the nose is repeated on the palate, giving Valvolpara a pleasant sensation of flavor and a persistent length, which invites another sip.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with light appetizers, fish-based dishes, seafood and fresh cheeses, Maculan's Valvolpara Vespaiolo DOC Breganze is an excellent choice for those looking for a white wine capable of combining freshness, aromatic intensity and a pleasant complexity, best representing the character and winemaking tradition of the Breganze area.

Winery history
The winery originated from the Maculan family's winemaking activities in Breganze. The current estate was developed from the business founded by grandfather Giovanni Maculan in 1947. In the 1970s Fausto Maculan led a qualitative transformation of the estate, elevating local wines such as Torcolato and expanding the portfolio with modern expressions of red and white wines. Today management also involves his daughters, continuing a path that combines local tradition with winemaking innovation.
Production philosophy
The winemaking approach combines respect for the territory with experimentation: meticulous care in the vineyard and the cellar, revival of local traditions and attention to modern techniques. The estate emphasizes the identity of Breganze grapes while also using international varieties for a wide range of wine styles.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the DOC Breganze area, on the hills at the foot of the Altopiano di Asiago. The area is characterized by microclimates favorable to ripening and by hillside aspects that influence production, particularly of passito wines made from Vespaiola.
